Just wanted to give everyone heads up on my status just in case. I have not been gaming much lately do to the steep learning curve I'm going through with my new rig. All I have been doing everyday is reading and trying to attack step by step installation and what not. I started out trying to install a Linux distro but It seems that gonna take longer for me to understand. I can play on my Mac Laptop but I really don't want to anymore, and can ya blame me I have a 64bit machine in my face and all it needs is installtion. It's going really slow due to I can't get real time help. So if anywho looks at my sys specs and thinks they can help me speed this process along please by all means I can use it.

Personally...If it were me I would load XP pro 32 bit on the box and get used to windows in a stable enviornment before I tried to load the 64 bit OS. There is alot more help available for the 32 bit version...and for UT'04 it's all you need and more....

well actually I found all the drivers for win XP 64 that I need, but I don't have the full operating sys just yet. I actually want to hold out for Vista, I think thats gonna rock once it gets outta beta. I don't want to buy multiple OS sys, so I think I'll just run the trial until a good choice comes along.
I got to run UT2k4 in 64bit OMG!

I have a 64bit machine running Windoze XP Home. Can I simply get the 64bit UT2k4 update and I'm good to go? Or do I have to have the 64bit Windoze system?
And what's the difference in the 64bit UT2k4 version. Does it run faster or whatever? I'm asking because I have no complaints with the current set-up. I wouldn't want to load it if there are any compatability issues - would I only be able to play on 64bit UT servers etc.? BTW, I have the nVidia 6800GT if that makes a difference.
I want to get the most outta my $2000 machine but I also don't want to mess with it much since ALL I do with it is play UT. My Macs make my living and my Windoze machine is strictly for UT.

Hey Jaky,
I would have to say you need to run 64bit software to get the benefits.
