If you've never played this game, give it a try. I consider it a cross between the old 80s arcade game Gauntlet (gone 3D) and Doom3.

Question #1 > Anyone here own, play, like, love, dislike, hate this game? I've been playing it for almost a year and I'm still hooked! I just came off of EBay where I just purchased the "Gold Edition". Should be sweet!

PainKiller Description
Dreamcatcher Inc’s PAINKILLER and its expansion pack, PAINKILLER: Out of Hell, are first person shooter games that have players blasting away the forces of Hell while searching for checkpoints, ammo, and new weapons. The plot of the first game, told through cutscenes between levels, follows Daniel Garner. Daniel has just died in a car crash and finds himself in purgatory. He’s quickly recruited to fight in the war between Heaven and Hell, which is coming to a head very quickly. Daniel’s mission is to kill Lucifer’s four generals, causing the army of evil to become uncoordinated and confused. The game features twenty four levels, each with a different theme, but don’t expect the traditional fire and brimstone. Levels range from insane asylums to opera houses to a medieval castle and are populated with all kinds of enemies, including ninjas, zombies, biker-thugs, and the more traditional demons. Daniel can find five different weapons to use to obliterate his enemies. The expansion game, PAINKILLER: Out of Hell, picks up where the first game left off. Daniel has defeated the four generals, but now he has to escape from Hell and Lucifer’s wrath. The game includes ten new levels, two new weapons, new multiplayer modes, and hidden tarot cards to find. The game isn’t for younger players, but mature fans of shooter games like QUAKE will find PAINKILLER is another enjoyable shoot-em-up romp through the underworld. With both the original and the expansion pack included, PAINKILLER GOLD EDITION promises great entertainment.

I tried the demo and I didn't like it. I didn't care for the weapons or the movement compared to UT.

This game is very cool graphically, but the single player got dry to quick for, too much of the same thing over and over again. you always new when the monsters were coming out to fight you. Online play was much more fun. Very fast paced, specially on the servers with the speed higher than normal. Havent played it for awhile now.

One of my favorite games stormblade. Loved the one player old school arcade style shooting. Some days I just dont like to think, I just wanna shoot. As for the moving, I like that it is not like UT, cuz if every game was like UT, that would not be very original.

I just picked up serious sam 2, and there is huge enemies on that too. Love that style of combat where there 50 guys surrounding you and theres guts every where. Pretty fun to me. I beat painkiller a long time ago. (the expansion was dissapointing to me though....except the first level, and the carnival. The graphic updates owned though, and the fact you load the expansion with the same exe was pretty cool too.

I love the multi player aspect of it as well, but most of the players are european, so I barely got any one to play. :( So fast paced. Nothing like rocketing a guy up in the air, then delivering another rocket (air rocket) then staking them in to the wall. The combination of different weapons while fighting is so different.

One of all time favorite games, but like I said no one to play, so havent played in 6 months or so.

BTW storm...the gold edition is the original game packaged with the expansion, nothing more. Basically the same as buying them seperate but together in a package. Should have just got the expansion silly, now you will have two Non expansion painkiller disks lol. Its all good though, I did that one time with warcraft 3. Accidently bought main game twice lol.
