One last dependable site I will let you all in on, that dont know about it.
http://www.tweakguides.com/Games.html
It has individual tweek guides for cfg files on every new first person shooter that has been coming out, including UT2004.
My system has been lagging on new games monkey....FEAR not, the new games come standard with ALOT of FPS draining every BS. Turn off things that you barely notice with these guides....like brass ejection on call of duty 2....every detail on these games, that you could not do with the standard graphic options with in the game.
This guy explains so fully that even some one who has never tweeked a cfg file could easily do it. (like me a year ago)
He even includes a 500 page guide for free print out or just to read, of windows XP tweeks.
I for one know how draining all this new stuff coming out is, and when the new UT2006 comes out in January or Feb....the Optimization guide (Tweak guide) will also be on that site as soon as the game comes out.
I remember with my radeon 9800 pro and Doom 3, I was glitching out badly. Till I read the doom 3 tweak guide, and messed with the CFG file, and gained like 20 FPS with near no quality loss.
I just posted this knowing the new UT tweak guide will be there when it comes out as I said, and fear not, YOU WILL be able to play UT2006 if you can play UT2004.....just a lil tweaking here and there, and blammo. ;)
OH yeah, one last thing when editing ANY CFG FILES....be smart, and save a reinstall in case you accidently mess up....make a folder named backupCFG next to the original file....copy the original, and put it in there, or just change the .cfg to .backup
