Well...I'm back from Florida. The wrestling tourney down there wasnt the best tourney (expecting 160+ wrestlers while actually getting 80...30 of which were from my team).
We stopped in Miami and went to south beach...not very fun since it was almost dark any way. I wish I had my camera out...I wanted to get a picture with one of the passed out bums near the beach.
that evening, we drove to Key West for some fun in the sun. We went mopeding around the island all night on the 30th. Its fun to be the center of attention when 25+ mopeds come roaring (ok...maybe growling just growling :wink: ) through the streets like a biker gang.
During the day on the 31st, we went snorkeling in a marine sanctuary. I got some good pics of the fish. My favorite (and somewhat scary) experience was seeing 2, 5-6 ft barracudas.
New years eve was great on the famous Duvall Street. It was crowded everywhere and drunks were pouring in and out of the bars. Like in NYC they had a ball drop during the countdown. Their ball just happened to be a conch shell.
After most people were rid of their hangovers on the 1st, some went to the beach while me and a few others went to lunch. We left Key West just after sundown and drove to West palm beach for a night. After our practice in the morning, we left for Orlando, and our flight back.
All in all, it was a fun trip. Hopefully we go back next year.
