Wow that's insanely lucky, there were pedestrians and everything.

I think he was going so fast the camera probably has a blurred plate at best.

Or the whole thing is some very creative editing. :)

Shit, I think he clipped both the SUV and the car too... and just kept on rolling. What a jerk!

I gotta tell ya, I once chased down a guy that ran a light like that. He clipped the front of another car, which dumped it's radiator and coolant instantly and stalled. Though it damaged the left front and side of his car a bit, he just floored it. I had just bought my '71 Alfa Romeo a few weeks before so I jammed it after him. Took me about 5 minutes of hard road-race style driving to catch the guy. All I did was nab his license number and backed right off.

When I returned to the scene the cops were there and I gave them the info. The woman, who was maybe 35 (I was about 25) was so grateful she wanted to give me a reward. And the cop laughed when I said it was reward enough to see what my new Alfa would do!

The end of the story is that I got the notice in the mail to testify and then a few days later a notice that I wasn't needed. Then a week later I got a personal note from the cop saying when they told the guy's lawyer I was willing to testify, he pleaded guilty.

And now the real sweetness of the tale. About 6 months later (and I hadn't thought of this for years so thanks for the memory) I was playing a gig at this downtown Seattle hotel, and I spot this same woman sitting at the bar in a business dress. So when we break she comes over and we start talking - the sexual tension is high as she is taking every opportunity to touch me while we talked. She was apparently staying in the hotel for some business-seminar and before I went back up on stage for the next set, she presses her room key into my hand and says, "I never did give you your 'reward'."

I won't go into details, but I will say, when I let myself into her room, she had, shall we say, "gotten started without me." You gotta love it when a woman warms up her own engine for ya! weeeeee!

Speaking of car chases...

I stopped by the ATM the other day in front of my nieghborhood and patiently waited in line behind an elderly lady as she took FOREVER to perform her transaction.

As I finally made it up to the machine a strange beeping noise was coming from the speaker that I never heard before. I finally realized that the machine was beeping because the elderly lady had left her atm card in the slot.

Now...I have had my share of problems with ATM's and I knew if I let this machine capture her card it would be a huge hassle on her part to get it back. I looked up and saw the lady waiting to enter the quite busy boulevard and decided to be a good samaritan and return it to her.

Well, just as I drove up behind her she took off. Now I'm sitting here holding this lady's card with my mug on the ATM's camera...so here we go! I bet I chased this lady 5 miles honking and flashing my lights at her only to make her drive more like a mad woman and making the chase even harder.

When I finally trapped her at a traffic light and jumped out of my truck I ran up to her only to find a can of mace pointed in my direction. I quickly backed away screaming "Lady you left your ATM card in the machine"!

Needless to say she was grateful yet embarrased by the ordeal. I left laughing as I commented her on her defensive driving skills...lol.
