I have seen people attack with mulitple weapons switching so fast between weps that the previously fired wep hasnt even hit yet and theyve already switched to another wep and are firing shots so that they are comming at you almost at the same time.does anyone know whatim talking about lol? how do they do that binds, scrollwheel??some trick?I have a good comp and broadband connection so i dont think its my comp but when i try to change weps fast alot of time it takes more time than i have i need to decrease time involved in switching weps.

Back in UT2003 fast weapon switching was a part of the game. UT2004 has the option for it..but the mut didn't work. There was soon a mut released called "2K3Style" that did work. We run this mut in our servers (cept for freaks world). You can actually hold the fire button down and switch weapons on the fly with binds simply by cycling through them.

2K3Style also enables boost jumping...but that's another story...

2K3Style is the only UT2004 mutator I know of that provides fast weapon switching. It's a server side mutator, but if you want the files you can get them from the fileserver, or use this direct link.

when holding down the fire button you just hit your regular key binds or is there a special bind for the fast wep switching?

Regular weapon binds are all you need.

THeres a reason for this phenomenon you see. Rockets take a while to get to a guy.....there fore some one shoots a rocket.....by the time that gets there, the fast weapon switch ut2003 mutator Lightning shot hits....since LG is instant hit, and rockets are major lagged.

i was experimenting with piped switches and i found u can do that with the slower weps i.e. rox bio. then hit another bind and switch. heres a link:

Yeah i do that a lot with the secondary flak. toss a flak ball, switch to lg, flakball blasts opponent into air, then lg shot for the kill. its like back to back, bam bam dead in a split sec. :D I didn't know this was a mutator.

I once saw YD shoot secondary goo...then primary flak and finally l/g that all hit the same place at the same time.

Another trick with weapon switching is with the goo. If you hold secondary goo, you can actually pre-switch weapons (this also works while loading secondary rockets). When you release the goo (or rockets), your weapon will automatically switch to the pre-designated weapon.

With goo, i usually have LG ready for the same bounce them in the air effect as crookward described with flak or the shock ready because if you over shoot the goo, but hit them with a primary shock, you'll knock them back into the goo. And with rockets, i usally pre-load mini.... cause if you get in a good rocket hit, mini will finish them off pretty quick.
